Notes:Look at Hacking in Digital WorldThere is a lot about the progress in the Digital World, however not many people understand, that this world has its issues as well as the real world. There are software companies for any needs and all of them have guaranteed that they have the best product. Agreed that those products have been tested by various professional, however disagree that you will not find a person in that moment with a smile on his/her face saying "Look at the many errors in this code". You may be guessing what are the consequences. Of course there are patches for every software, but let's not forget that there was the crack, before the patches. It is important to point out this sequence of events for those one not familiar with the philosophy of Hacking. Even if you have a software that is 100% secure you need to place it in one of the available Operating systems. Let's assume that the Operating Systems are roots of the tree and the Software are the branches. Let's imagine that those roots slowly started to deteriorate. Are we going to see the leaves back one day? Employers nowadays are often considering a System Administrator, someone to monitor the whole system. At the end of the day if your system is a target the Anti virus, Firewall and patches do not stand a chance. In that case just look at the Log files to understand better the role and purpose of having a System Administrator on site. The way a hacker get's control over your system....Here is a good example. First, target selection. Second collect the following info (IP, Host, OS, Software...ect).Secure the escape route (Anonymous proxy, Zombie PC or Server). Then you review the whole plan to ensure all is in order. Of course there are other important details to consider, however those are not part of this article. Someone said "If you want to become a good detective, you must first start thinking like a criminal". A good System Administrator will always stop the danger at the very early stages and select the proper defence. It is true that if you want to be 100 % secure, you need to pull the plug, however we all need to keep them running. You can not be 100 % secure, however you can be a STEP AHEAD. Wifi HackWe often come across the following comments” I feel secure as I am using 128mb encryption on my Wifi Router and I have a firewall” Excellent, great job !!! The only thing that could be stopped by the 128mb encryption it’s your next door neighbor, who does not have a clue, that someone just needs a couple of minutes or seconds to break your WEP or WPA-WPA2 defense. Let me tell you exactly how much time a hacker needs to settle comfortable in your router, while checking your ftp and mail password. WPA/WPA2 – 00:00:02 ( Personal "WPA-PSK" ) In summary your firewall and antivirus software are not able to guarantee that someone is not checking your private life. Advise? Check your Log files and try not to use that often the Wifi Routers. Easy to get all the information you need from anyone's computer today."It is now time to stop the WEP protocol as an alternative in Wifi. All of us familiar with Wifi secure methods knows that all we need is a few minutes (2 minutes and 42 seconds in my case) to hack 128-bit encryption. In my humble opinion this protocol needs to be excluded as an alternative to secure Wifi solutions. Also, there should always be a full user disclosure on how to tune up encryption correctly. Many people are under the impression that having antivirus or firewall installed will give them 100 % security. I am most confident that it would only take me a couple of minutes to prove my point regarding how unsecure standard Wifi solutions are today. Of course we cannot be 100 % secure even as a company, but our providers should be responsible to inform about the need of using WPA/WPA2 instead of WEP. There are many ISP that offers POP3 mail services without secure tunnels and this is not a secure solution. It is time for someone to write about these security issues and the lack of security thinking from our providers and manufacturers".
